Boca Hydro Iron EDTA Hero

Boca Hydro Chelated Iron EDTA 14%

Premium Fully Chelated Water-Soluble Iron for Hydroponics, Fertigation, Foliar Feeding and Soil Applications

Boca Hydro Chelated Iron EDTA 14% is a concentrated, fully chelated and water-soluble iron micronutrient designed to correct and prevent iron deficiency while supporting healthy chlorophyll production, photosynthesis, enzyme activity and vigorous green growth.

Iron deficiency commonly appears as interveinal chlorosis, where the tissue between leaf veins becomes pale yellow while the veins remain greener. Symptoms normally appear first on younger growth because iron has limited mobility within the plant.

EDTA chelation helps keep iron soluble and available to plant roots in neutral to moderately acidic nutrient solutions and growing media. Boca Hydro Iron EDTA is best suited for approximately pH 4.0–6.5 and provides a clean iron source for hydroponics, coco, rockwool, fertigation, foliar feeding, soil drenches, containers, vegetables, fruit crops, ornamentals, trees and turf.

Because this product contains 14% chelated iron, only small quantities are needed. Accurate measurement is especially important when preparing hydroponic nutrient solutions and concentrated stock solutions.

Why Plants Need Iron

Chlorophyll Production	Iron plays an essential role in the processes plants use to produce and maintain chlorophyll, supporting healthy green foliage.
Photosynthesis	Adequate iron nutrition supports the biochemical reactions involved in photosynthesis and plant energy production.
Enzyme Activity	Iron participates in numerous enzyme systems involved in plant metabolism, respiration and healthy development.
Healthy New Growth	Maintaining available iron is especially important for young leaves, growing tips and actively developing plant tissue.
Root & Plant Development	Proper iron nutrition supports overall plant metabolism, root development and vigorous crop growth.
Wide Crop Compatibility	Suitable for vegetables, fruit crops, ornamentals, trees, turf, container plants and professional hydroponic production.

Recognizing Iron Deficiency

Early Symptoms	Young leaves may become pale green or yellow while the veins remain noticeably darker.
Progressive Deficiency	New leaves can become increasingly yellow or nearly white as iron availability becomes more limited.
Reduced Plant Vigor	Severe or prolonged deficiency may reduce photosynthesis, slow new growth and negatively affect overall plant performance.
High-pH Conditions	Iron may be present in the soil yet become poorly available to plants when root-zone pH becomes too high.

Application & Dosing Guide

Foliar Spray	Maintenance: 0.5–0.75 g per gallon or approximately 1.5–2 tbsp concentrate Approximate iron concentration: 18–28 ppm Fe Deficiency Repair: 1.0–1.5 g per gallon or approximately 2.5–3 tbsp concentrate Approximate iron concentration: 37–55 ppm Fe Dissolve completely before spraying. Apply during cooler parts of the day and avoid treating severely heat- or drought-stressed foliage.
Pots & Containers	Small Pots: 0.1 g per gallon or approximately 0.75 tsp concentrate Medium Pots: 0.2–0.3 g per gallon or approximately 1.5–2.5 tsp concentrate Large Plants: 0.4–0.6 g per gallon or approximately 1–1.5 tbsp concentrate
Hydroponics / Coco / Rockwool	Seedlings — 1–2 ppm Fe: 0.03–0.05 g per gallon or approximately 0.25 tsp concentrate Vegetative / Flowering — 2–4 ppm Fe: 0.054–0.11 g per gallon or approximately 0.4–0.8 tsp concentrate Correcting Deficiency — 4–5 ppm Fe: 0.11–0.135 g per gallon or approximately 0.85–1.05 tsp concentrate Use as the iron component of a complete nutrient program. Selecting the Correct Iron Chelate

Iron EDTA	Best suited for neutral to moderately acidic nutrient solutions and growing media, approximately pH 4.0–6.5.
Higher-pH Conditions	Iron EDTA becomes less suitable as alkalinity increases. For alkaline soils or irrigation water, a more pH-stable iron chelate such as DTPA or EDDHA may be more appropriate.
Hydroponics	Iron EDTA is an excellent choice for many hydroponic systems when nutrient-solution pH is maintained within the recommended range.

Important: Iron is a micronutrient and is required in relatively small quantities. More is not better. Excessive iron application may interfere with nutrient balance and can cause plant injury.

High-pH Soils: Iron chlorosis in alkaline or calcareous soils is often caused by poor iron availability rather than an actual lack of iron in the soil. EDTA is best used within its effective pH range. Consider a more pH-stable chelate for strongly alkaline conditions.

Mixing: Always dissolve the product completely in water before application. Do not apply the dry powder directly to foliage. When combining concentrated fertilizer stocks, use a compatibility test before preparing a large batch.

Storage: Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry location. Protect from moisture and humidity. Avoid breathing dust and avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
