Symptoms

Zinc defeciency causes deformity of fruits, rosette on pecans, white bud on corn and on citrus, peach and grape is usually represented by small, lighter colored leafs and interveinal chlorosis. Extreme zinc defeciency can also cause fruit and nuts to be bitter and branch die off in citrus.

Using pure zinc products for plants can be dangerous, they are usually too strong and are for tanning, ceramics or manufacturing. Only a small percentage of these products is available to plants and may cause severe burning.

Zinc in plants is used in the formation of chlorophyll and some carbohydrates, and the conversion of starches to sugars and processing of nutrients to the plant.
Zinc is also essential in the formation of auxins, which help with growth regulation and stem elongation.
