Boca Hydro Chelated Zinc EDTA 14%

Professional-Grade Fully Chelated Zinc for Fast, Efficient Plant Uptake

Boca Hydro Chelated Zinc EDTA 14% is a premium-grade, fully water-soluble micronutrient fertilizer that provides plants with a highly available source of essential Zinc (Zn). With 14% chelated zinc, this concentrated formula is designed for efficient nutrient delivery in hydroponics, fertigation, foliar feeding, soil, coco, container growing, and professional fertilizer programs.

Zinc is an essential plant micronutrient involved in enzyme activation, protein synthesis, chlorophyll production, carbohydrate metabolism, growth regulation, and the formation of important plant hormones. Although plants require zinc only in small amounts, an inadequate supply can significantly affect new growth, leaf development, crop quality, flowering, and overall plant vigor.

The EDTA chelation process helps protect zinc in a soluble form, improving nutrient availability and helping reduce zinc tie-up in growing media and nutrient solutions. This makes Boca Hydro Chelated Zinc EDTA an excellent choice for both routine micronutrient supplementation and the correction of confirmed zinc deficiencies.

Zinc deficiency may appear as shortened internodes, rosetting, stunted or distorted new growth, small leaves, pale or yellow foliage, and interveinal chlorosis. Characteristic symptoms may include rosette in pecans, white bud in corn, and small mottled or chlorotic leaves in citrus, grapes, peaches, and other fruit crops. Severe or prolonged deficiency can contribute to reduced fruit development, poor crop quality, twig or branch dieback, and overall plant decline.

14% Chelated Zinc EDTA Chelated Fully Water Soluble Hydroponic Grade Foliar & Root Feeding Fertigation Ready

Highly concentrated, fully water-soluble, and designed for precision zinc nutrition in hydroponics, fertigation, soil, coco, containers, and foliar programs.

Product Benefits
Corrects Zinc Deficiency Provides a concentrated source of highly available zinc to help correct deficiencies associated with stunted growth, shortened internodes, rosetting, small leaves, chlorosis, and reduced plant vigor.
Fully Chelated Zinc Zinc is chelated with EDTA to help maintain nutrient solubility and availability, allowing plants to access zinc more efficiently through roots and foliage.
Supports Healthy New Growth Zinc plays an important role in plant growth regulation, enzyme activity, protein synthesis, and the development of healthy leaves, shoots, and growing points.
Chlorophyll & Plant Metabolism Supports processes involved in chlorophyll production, carbohydrate metabolism, photosynthetic performance, and efficient plant nutrient use.
Fruit & Crop Development Maintaining adequate zinc nutrition helps support normal flowering, fruit development, crop quality, and productive plant growth.
Clean Water Solubility Dissolves quickly and cleanly for use in hydroponic reservoirs, fertilizer injectors, foliar sprays, root drenches, and concentrated nutrient programs.
Why Use Chelated Zinc EDTA?
Hydroponics Provides precise supplemental zinc nutrition for hydroponic and soilless growing systems where micronutrient levels must be carefully controlled.
Fertigation Highly concentrated and fully water soluble for accurate delivery through fertilizer injectors and irrigation systems.
Foliar Feeding Can be applied as a properly diluted foliar spray for direct nutrient delivery when rapid zinc supplementation is required.
Citrus & Fruit Trees Useful for citrus, avocado, mango, peaches, grapes, pecans, and other fruit and nut crops where zinc deficiency can affect leaf size, new growth, fruit development, and overall tree vigor.
Vegetables & Field Crops Suitable for tomatoes, peppers, corn, vegetables, greenhouse crops, ornamentals, and other plants requiring supplemental zinc nutrition.
Custom Nutrient Formulas An excellent concentrated zinc source for growers and formulators building complete micronutrient blends or custom fertilizer programs.
Grower Tip: Zinc is an essential micronutrient but plants require it in very small quantities. More is not always better. For hydroponics and fertigation, always account for zinc already supplied by your base fertilizer or micronutrient blend before adding supplemental Zinc EDTA.

Stock Solution Concentrate

Master Concentrate: Dissolve 200 grams of Boca Hydro Chelated Zinc EDTA 14% in water, then add enough water to bring the total final volume to 1 gallon. Mix thoroughly until completely dissolved.
Concentrate Measurement Approximate Elemental Zinc Delivered
1 mL ≈ 7.4 mg Zn
1 teaspoon ≈ 36 mg Zn
1 tablespoon ≈ 109 mg Zn
For very low-rate applications such as hydroponics and fertigation, using the liquid concentrate allows much more accurate measurement than attempting to weigh extremely small quantities of dry powder.

Foliar Application

Application Dry Product 200 g/gal Concentrate
Maintenance 0.25–0.5 g per gallon 1–2 tsp per gallon
Deficiency Correction 0.75–1 g per gallon 3–4 tsp per gallon

Spray foliage evenly until thoroughly wetted without excessive runoff. Apply during cooler parts of the day and avoid spraying plants under heat or drought stress. For sensitive crops, test a small area before treating the entire crop.

Pots & Containers

Container Size Dry Product per Gallon 200 g/gal Concentrate
Small Pots 0.05–0.10 g 1–2 mL
Medium Pots 0.10–0.20 g 2–4 mL
Large Pots & Containers 0.20–0.30 g 4–6 mL

Apply the diluted solution evenly to the root zone. These rates are intended for supplemental or corrective zinc feeding rather than every-watering use. Avoid repeated high-rate applications unless zinc deficiency has been confirmed.

Root-Zone Drench

Application Dry Product per 5 Gallons 200 g/gal Concentrate
Light / Maintenance Drench 0.5–1 g 2–4 tsp
Confirmed Deficiency 1.5–2.5 g 2–3.25 tbsp

Apply evenly throughout the active root zone. Zinc can accumulate when repeatedly overapplied, so deficiency-correction drenches should not be used as a routine high-frequency fertilizer program.

Hydroponics

Typical Supplemental Target: 0.05–0.10 ppm elemental Zinc (Zn). Always account for zinc already supplied by your base fertilizer or micronutrient blend.
Target Zn Dry Product per 100 Gallons 200 g/gal Concentrate per 100 Gallons
0.05 ppm Zn 0.135 g 2.6 mL (≈ 1/2 tsp)
0.10 ppm Zn 0.270 g 5.1 mL (≈ 1 tsp)

Add the concentrate to the nutrient reservoir and mix thoroughly. Because zinc is required in very small quantities, use accurate measuring equipment and include zinc already present in complete hydroponic fertilizers when calculating the final target.

Fertigation – 1:100 Injector

The rates below are calculated for an injector operating at a 1:100 dilution ratio and show the amount needed in 1 gallon of injector stock solution.
Final Zn Target Dry Product per Gallon of Injector Stock 200 g/gal Master Concentrate
0.05 ppm Zn 0.135 g 2.6 mL (≈ 1/2 tsp)
0.10 ppm Zn 0.270 g 5.1 mL (≈ 1 tsp)

When using the 200 g/gal master concentrate, measure the required amount shown above into the fertigation stock tank, then add water to bring the total stock volume to 1 gallon. Inject at 1:100.

Important: Do not use 100–200 grams of Zinc EDTA per gallon of injector stock when targeting 0.05–0.10 ppm Zn. At a 1:100 injection ratio, those concentrations would supply approximately 37–74 ppm elemental zinc and greatly exceed normal micronutrient targets.
