Boca Hydro Calcium Nitrate Prime
Boca Hydro Calcium Nitrate Prime is a premium, fully water-soluble calcium nitrate fertilizer designed for hydroponics, soil, coco, container plants, foliar feeding, and fertigation systems. This high-performance hydroponics grade formula provides fast-available nitrate nitrogen and highly soluble calcium to support strong vegetative growth, healthy root tips, firm stems, flowering, fruit development, and overall crop quality.
Calcium is one of the most important secondary nutrients in hydroponic and soilless growing systems because plants have no soil reserve to draw from. Consistent calcium availability helps support strong cell walls, vigorous new growth, healthy root tips, and improved flower and fruit quality. Calcium also helps reduce common crop issues such as weak stems, distorted new leaves, and blossom-end rot in fruiting crops.

Mixing Instructions
Boca Hydro Calcium Nitrate Prime is a water-soluble product and should be dissolved in water before application. Do not apply dry product directly to plant foliage or roots. For best accuracy, measure by grams using a digital pocket scale.
Stock Solution: Dissolve 1,000 grams, or 2.2 lbs of Boca Hydro Calcium Nitrate Prime in enough distilled water to make 1 gallon of concentrate.
Important Mixing Note: Do not mix concentrated calcium nitrate stock solution with concentrated phosphate or sulfate fertilizers. Keep calcium nitrate in a separate stock tank when using products such as MAP, MKP, sulfate of potash, or magnesium sulfate. These products may be combined after dilution in the final irrigation water.
Directions for Use
Use Boca Hydro Calcium Nitrate Prime as part of a complete fertilizer program. This product supplies calcium and nitrate nitrogen but does not supply phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, or micronutrients.
Stock Solution Reference
| Stock Solution | Mixing Rate |
|---|---|
| Concentrate | Dissolve 1,000 grams, or 2.2 lbs, in enough distilled water to make 1 gallon of stock solution. |
| Concentrate Strength | Approximately 0.264 grams dry product per 1 mL concentrate. |
| Measuring Note | Product density may vary. Use a digital scale for dry product accuracy. |
Hydroponics / Coco / Soilless Feeding
| Strength | Target Calcium | Dry Rate | Concentrate per Gallon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light Feed | 80 ppm Ca | 1.3 g/gal | 5 mL or 1 tsp |
| Standard Feed | 100 ppm Ca | 1.6 g/gal | 6 mL or 1.2 tsp |
| Heavy Feed | 150 ppm Ca | 2.4 g/gal | 9 mL or 1.8 tsp |
For hydroponic use, monitor EC, pH, crop stage, and total nutrient strength. Calcium Nitrate Prime should be used with a complete nutrient program that includes phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and micronutrients.
Foliar Spray
| Use | Dry Rate | Concentrate per Gallon |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | 1 g/gal | 4 mL or 3/4 tsp |
| Deficiency Support | 2–3 g/gal | 8–12 mL or 1.5–2.25 tsp |
Apply foliar sprays during the cool part of the day. Avoid spraying during high heat, drought stress, intense sunlight, or when plants are under stress. Test on a small area before broad application.
Pots and Containers
| Container Size / Use | Dry Rate | Concentrate per Gallon |
|---|---|---|
| Small Pots / Young Plants | 0.5–1 g/gal | 2–4 mL or 1/2–3/4 tsp |
| Medium Pots / Established Plants | 1–2 g/gal | 4–8 mL or 3/4–1.5 tsp |
| Large Pots / Heavy Feeders | 2–3 g/gal | 8–12 mL or 1.5–2.25 tsp |
Apply as a normal watering solution until the growing media is evenly moist. Use lower rates for young plants and higher rates for established, fast-growing, or fruiting plants.
Soil Drench
| Use | Dry Rate | Concentrate per 5 Gallons |
|---|---|---|
| Light Feeding | 5–10 g per 5 gal | 1.25–2.5 tbsp |
| Heavy Feeding | 20–25 g per 5 gal | 5–6 tbsp |
Apply around the root zone and water in evenly. Use lower rates for routine feeding and higher rates for heavy-feeding crops or visible calcium demand.
Fertigation / Injector Use at 1:100
| Target Calcium in Final Water | Stock Tank Strength | Injector Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| 80 ppm Ca | 130 g per gallon of stock solution | 1:100 |
| 100 ppm Ca | 160 g per gallon of stock solution | 1:100 |
| 150 ppm Ca | 240 g per gallon of stock solution | 1:100 |
For fertigation, dissolve the listed amount of Calcium Nitrate Prime into each gallon of stock solution and inject at 1:100. Adjust rate based on crop stage, water quality, feed program, and target calcium level.
Compatibility Note
| Do not mix concentrated calcium nitrate stock with concentrated phosphate or sulfate fertilizers. Keep calcium nitrate in a separate stock tank when using MAP, MKP, sulfate of potash, magnesium sulfate, or similar products. These fertilizers may be combined after dilution in the final irrigation water. |
