Boca Hydro Chelated Iron DTPA 12%
Water-Soluble Iron Micronutrient for Hydroponics, Fertigation, Foliar Feeding & Soil Applications
Premium Chelated Iron for Strong Green Growth
Boca Hydro Chelated Iron DTPA 12% is a premium-grade chelated iron fertilizer designed to help correct and prevent iron deficiency in a wide range of crops. Iron is essential for chlorophyll formation, photosynthesis, enzyme function, energy transfer, and healthy plant metabolism.
Iron deficiency commonly appears as yellowing between the veins of young leaves while the veins remain greener. Boca Hydro Iron DTPA helps keep iron available in hydroponic nutrient solutions, fertigation programs, foliar sprays, soil drenches, coco, containers, ornamentals, vegetables, fruit trees, and turf.
Stock Solution
Liquid Concentrate: Mix 200 grams of Boca Hydro Chelated Iron DTPA 12% into 1 gallon of distilled water. Stir until fully dissolved. Store sealed in a cool, dry place and shake before use.
| Measurement | Approx. Product Delivered | Best Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 tsp concentrate | 0.26 g Iron DTPA 12% | Hydroponic reservoir adjustments |
| 1 tbsp concentrate | 0.78 g Iron DTPA 12% | Small container, foliar, or correction doses |
| 1 fl oz concentrate | 1.56 g Iron DTPA 12% | Foliar, container, or drench measuring |
| Dry product reference | 1 tsp dry ≈ 4.75–5 g 1 tbsp dry ≈ 14–15 g |
Approximate only. Use a scale for best accuracy. |
Foliar Spray Dosing
Apply as a fine mist during the cooler part of the day. Avoid spraying during extreme heat, bright midday sun, drought stress, or heavy flowering. Test sensitive plants first.
| Use | Dry Product | 200 g/gal Concentrate | Application Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | 1–2 g per gallon | 19–38 mL per gallon 1.25–2.5 tbsp per gallon |
Use for regular iron support and mild greening. |
| Deficiency Repair | 2–3 g per gallon | 38–57 mL per gallon 2.5–3.75 tbsp per gallon |
Use for visible chlorosis. Repeat only as needed. |
Pots & Containers
Use as a root-zone drench around the plant. Apply to pre-moistened media for best distribution.
| Plant / Container Size | Dry Product | 200 g/gal Concentrate | Suggested Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small pots | 0.5–1 g per gallon | 9.5–19 mL per gallon 2–4 tsp per gallon |
Every 2–4 weeks as needed |
| Medium pots | 1–2 g per gallon | 19–38 mL per gallon 1.25–2.5 tbsp per gallon |
Every 2–4 weeks as needed |
| Large containers / trees | 2–3 g per gallon | 38–57 mL per gallon 2.5–3.75 tbsp per gallon |
Use for heavier feeding or visible deficiency. |
Hydroponic Reservoir Dosing
For hydroponics, dose by ppm of elemental iron. Boca Hydro Iron DTPA 12% supplies approximately 31.7 ppm Fe per 1 gram per gallon, so only small amounts are needed in reservoirs.
| Target Iron Level | Dry Product Per Gallon | 200 g/gal Concentrate Per Gallon | Recommended Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 ppm Fe | 0.03 g | 0.6 mL | Very light feeding / seedlings |
| 2 ppm Fe | 0.06 g | 1.2 mL | Seedlings and light feeding |
| 3 ppm Fe | 0.095 g | 1.8 mL | Standard vegetative or flowering feed |
| 4 ppm Fe | 0.13 g | 2.4 mL | Heavy feeding or mild correction |
| 5 ppm Fe | 0.16 g | 3.0 mL | Short-term correction only |
For hydroponics, measure with a syringe or digital scale. Avoid spoon-measuring dry product directly into small reservoirs.
Fertigation / Injector Dosing — 1:100
For fertigation, dissolve the amount below into 1 gallon of injector stock and inject at 1:100. These rates are calculated to deliver the listed final iron ppm after injection.
| Final Target | Iron DTPA 12% Per Gallon of Injector Stock | Injector Ratio | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 ppm Fe | 6.3 g per gallon stock | 1:100 | Light feeding / maintenance |
| 3 ppm Fe | 9.5 g per gallon stock | 1:100 | Standard feeding |
| 4 ppm Fe | 12.6 g per gallon stock | 1:100 | Moderate correction |
| 5 ppm Fe | 15.8 g per gallon stock | 1:100 | Heavy correction / short-term use |
Fertigation stock is mixed separately from the general 200 g per gallon concentrate. The grams above are per gallon of injector stock and are designed specifically for 1:100 injection.
Drench Dosing — 5 Gallons of Water
Use for root-zone correction in soil, coco, raised beds, fruit trees, ornamentals, and container plants. Apply evenly around the active root zone.
| Use | Dry Product Per 5 Gallons | 200 g/gal Concentrate | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | 5–10 g | 95–190 mL 0.4–0.8 cup |
Use for routine greening and mild deficiency prevention. |
| Deficiency Repair | 10–15 g | 190–285 mL 0.8–1.2 cups |
Use for visible chlorosis. Dry product may be easier for larger batches. |
