Boca Hydro Tomato Cal

Boca Hydro Tomato Cal

Highly Soluble Sugar Cane-Derived Nitrogen and Calcium

for Tomatoes, Peppers & Vegetable Gardens

Boca Hydro Tomato Cal is a premium liquid calcium and nitrogen supplement formulated for tomatoes, peppers and other high-demand flowering and fruiting crops. At the center of the formula is a highly soluble, sugar cane-derived calcium source designed to disperse readily in water and provide calcium in a form that can be efficiently delivered throughout a feeding program.

Unlike calcium sources that depend on slow mineral dissolution in the soil, Tomato Cal is already formulated as a liquid concentrate. This makes it especially useful when growers need a convenient source of calcium for fertigation, soil drenches, container plants, coco coir and foliar feeding programs.

The formula supplies 16% Calcium together with 11% Nitrogen, plus magnesium, boron and zinc. This combination supports vigorous plant growth, healthy new tissue, strong cell development, chlorophyll production, flowering, fruit set and uniform fruit development.

Tomato Cal is especially useful during periods of rapid vegetative growth, flowering and early fruit development when calcium demand can increase dramatically.

What Makes Tomato Cal Different? The calcium in Tomato Cal is derived from sugar cane-based organic material and formulated for excellent water solubility. That means growers can deliver calcium directly through irrigation water rather than relying entirely on slower-dissolving soil amendments.

Highly Soluble Calcium for Rapidly Growing Plants

Calcium is essential to plant growth, but simply having calcium present in the soil does not always mean the plant can obtain enough of it. Many traditional calcium materials dissolve slowly or depend heavily on soil chemistry, moisture and pH before meaningful amounts become available.

Boca Hydro Tomato Cal is designed to overcome that limitation with a concentrated liquid source of highly soluble calcium.

Because the calcium is already dispersed in a liquid formulation, Tomato Cal can be mixed directly into irrigation water and distributed throughout the active root zone. This is especially valuable for fast-growing crops with high calcium demand.

High solubility makes Tomato Cal an excellent choice for:

  • Tomatoes producing rapidly expanding fruit
  • Peppers during flowering and fruit development
  • Eggplant, cucumber, squash and melons
  • Container-grown vegetables
  • Coco coir and soilless growing media
  • Raised beds and intensive vegetable gardens
  • Fertigation and drip irrigation programs
  • Plants showing increased calcium demand during rapid growth

Why Calcium Matters

Calcium is a structural nutrient. Plants use it to build and stabilize cell walls and membranes, making it especially important in rapidly expanding leaves, roots, flowers and fruit.

Unlike highly mobile nutrients such as nitrogen or potassium, calcium has limited mobility once deposited within plant tissue. New growth therefore depends heavily on a continuous supply of calcium reaching actively growing tissues.

Maintaining consistent calcium availability helps support:

  • Strong cell wall formation
  • Healthy growing tips and young leaves
  • Firm stems and plant structure
  • Normal flower and fruit development
  • Uniform fruit formation
  • Improved tissue strength
  • Healthy root development

Support Against Blossom End Rot

Blossom end rot is closely associated with insufficient calcium reaching rapidly developing fruit tissue. Tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, squash and similar crops can be particularly susceptible when calcium delivery becomes inconsistent.

Environmental conditions can also influence calcium movement. Irregular watering, damaged roots, excessive salinity, rapid growth and extreme heat can all interfere with the plant's ability to move calcium to developing fruit.

Tomato Cal provides a concentrated, highly soluble calcium source that can be incorporated into a consistent irrigation and nutrition program to help maintain calcium availability during the periods when plants need it most.

Important: Calcium nutrition works best together with consistent irrigation. Even an adequate calcium supply cannot fully compensate for severe drought stress, damaged roots or extreme fluctuations in root-zone moisture.

Naturally Derived from Sugar Cane

Tomato Cal's calcium source is derived from sugar cane-based organic material, giving growers an alternative to conventional mineral-only calcium supplements.

The sugar cane-derived organic components help create a highly soluble liquid formulation that mixes easily into water and can be distributed evenly throughout the root zone.

For growers using soil, potting mixes or coco coir, this provides a convenient way to supplement calcium without depending entirely on slow-release limestone, gypsum or other solid calcium amendments.

The result is a versatile calcium product that combines the convenience of a liquid concentrate with a naturally derived calcium source.

More Than Calcium

Tomato Cal combines calcium with several complementary nutrients important to productive vegetable and fruit crops.

Calcium — 16% Supports cell wall development, growing points, root health, tissue strength and normal fruit development.
Nitrogen — 11% Supports vigorous vegetative growth, chlorophyll production, amino-acid formation and the healthy foliage needed to power flowering and fruit production.
Magnesium — 1.5% Magnesium is a central component of chlorophyll and helps support photosynthesis and energy production.
Boron — 0.10% Boron is an essential micronutrient involved in cell wall formation, growing points, flowering and reproductive development.
Zinc — 0.10% Zinc supports enzyme activity, protein metabolism and normal plant growth and development.
Complete Support The combination is particularly well suited to rapidly growing plants entering flowering and early fruit development.

Designed for Heavy-Feeding Fruiting Crops

Tomatoes may be in the name, but Tomato Cal can be used with a wide range of crops that require consistent calcium nutrition.

Tomatoes Excellent for garden tomatoes, greenhouse tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, slicing tomatoes and large-fruited varieties.
Peppers Suitable for bell peppers, sweet peppers, hot peppers and other Capsicum varieties.
Eggplant Supports vigorous growth and developing fruit during periods of high nutrient demand.
Cucumbers & Squash Useful for vigorous cucurbit crops during rapid vegetative growth, flowering and fruit development.
Melons & Fruiting Vines Provides supplemental calcium for crops producing large amounts of rapidly expanding fruit tissue.
Containers & Coco Especially convenient where the root system depends almost entirely on nutrients supplied through irrigation.

Ideal for Soil, Containers, Coco & Fertigation

Tomato Cal is designed for flexible application across several growing systems.

Soil Gardens & Raised Beds

Apply through irrigation or as a soil drench to supplement the calcium already present in the soil.

Pots & Containers

Container plants have a limited nutrient reserve and can benefit from regular supplementation throughout periods of active growth.

Coco Coir & Soilless Media

Coco and other soilless substrates contain little natural nutrient reserve, making a consistent calcium supply especially important.

Fertigation & Drip Irrigation

The liquid, water-dispersible formula makes Tomato Cal easy to incorporate into irrigation programs for efficient root-zone delivery.

Foliar Application

Tomato Cal may also be used as a foliar supplement when a targeted foliar application is appropriate. Apply as a fine mist during cooler parts of the day.

General Application Guidelines

Foliar Spray

Maintenance: 1–2 teaspoons per gallon of water
Deficiency Support: 1–1.5 tablespoons per gallon of water

Apply as a fine mist during the early morning or late afternoon. Avoid spraying during excessive heat or intense direct sunlight.

Pots & Containers

Small Pots: 1–1.5 teaspoons per gallon
